At high resolution with high details, CrossFire seems to work far better, but it's still not quite as good as a more balanced x8 by x8 or faster solution. The P35 Platinum with CrossFire and beta AMD drivers seems to work more consistently than the Commando P965 board has done, even if it still isn't quite as fast in places.

Single card performance is also very good, and despite being mostly GPU limited it has still managed to eek out an extra FPS here and there.
